Yardup is the name of the farm our family has called home for more than 100 years.

David Alexander Milne, originally from Scotland, bought what was then a bush block south of Borden in 1906. Four generations of Milnes have since farmed the land now known as Yardup.

Yardup consists of 4500 hectares of land in the beautiful Great Southern region of Western Australia, about 400 kilometres south of Perth. With the Stirling Ranges as our backdrop, we crop wheat, barley, canola, lupins and oats, and run about 4000 Merino sheep producing wool and lambs. We have been sharing snippets of our farming life with guests from all over the world since 1993.

Our home town of Borden lies 14 kilometres north of us. Although small in number, our community spirit is strong, vibrant, diverse and creative. Borden has a primary school, a community pavilion, a tavern and one of the state’s primary grain receival sites, operated by Cooperative Bulk Handling (CBH). Borden has a proud pioneering history and a successful and progressive farming pedigree.

We live at Yardup Homestead, just down the road from the Cottage and Shearers Quarters. We are never far if you need assistance of any kind, however we do like to give you privacy so you can enjoy a peaceful stay.
